Plain terms for a small service. By creating an account you agree to these.
FuturVoice is a web application for cloning a voice from a short reference recording, generating speech in it, editing audio on a timeline, applying effects, and transcribing dictation. It runs in the browser. Some processing happens on infrastructure operated by a third party; the privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent where.
The service is early, and priced accordingly. Parts of it are labelled Beta in the product. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and you should not rely on FuturVoice as the only place a piece of work exists. Keep your own copies of anything you care about.
You need an account to use the service. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person - creating extra accounts to collect the free credit grant more than once is not allowed, and we detect it.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Doing so erases your content permanently, subject to the backup ageing described in the privacy policy.
Generation costs one credit per second of audio produced. New accounts receive a one-time grant of 500 credits.
You are charged only for audio that was actually produced. A failed generation costs nothing, and asking for exactly the same thing twice costs nothing the second time; a cancelled generation is billed for whatever had already been produced before you stopped it, which is usually nothing. If a request falls back to a different engine, it is priced at the engine that actually produced the audio.
Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not refundable. We are not currently selling credits; if that changes these terms will be updated before it does.
You may only upload, record or clone a voice where you are the speaker, or you have the speaker's permission.
You must not use FuturVoice to:
Breaching this section is grounds for immediate account closure without refund. We will cooperate with lawful requests from the person whose voice was misused.
You keep all rights in the reference audio you upload, the text you write, and the audio you generate. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it to train models.
We grant you a licence to use the service. The software, the site and the FuturVoice name remain ours. The underlying open-source project this service is built on remains the property of its authors under its own licence.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your files, process them on the infrastructure described in the privacy policy, and transmit them back to you.
The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice so you can export your work, and you can export generated audio and stories at any time.

To the extent the law allows, FuturVoice is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded - including, for consumers in the EU, your statutory rights.
Since the service is currently free, any liability that does arise is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.
You can stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly the voices section. If we close your account for a breach we will tell you why, unless a law prevents it.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
These terms are governed by French law, and the courts of France have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
